Atlanta on Thursday released 650 pages of emails in response to a Georgia Open Records Act request from Atlanta Business Chronicle on the city’s efforts to keep the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.
The package released includes a September memo from the Braves listing 16 requirements it wanted to stay at the Ted. Braves release new renderings of proposed Cobb County stadium
“These communications bear out what we have known all along: we were engaged in good faith negotiations with the Atlanta Braves as the lease on Turner Field neared expiration,” the city said in a statement. “We genuinely believed we were fully engaged to keep the team at Turner Field, as evidenced by a September memo submitted by the Braves… We were in the process of vetting the concerns raised in that memo when the Braves abruptly, and without warning, announced their intentions to move the team to Cobb County.”
