braves-site-cobb-county 600Cobb County today made public its “memorandum of understanding” with the Atlanta Braves for the team’s new stadium.

The agreement details the 60-acre, $672 million project’s financing, and how it will be designed and built. It also lays out how the proposal can be terminated if bond financing has not been closed by Dec. 31, 2014.

The agreement further calls for construction to begin no later than Jan. 1, 2015, and be completed by Feb. 1, 2017.

It gives the Braves exclusive rights to sell naming rights to the stadium. Cobb County gets the right to hold up to three special events per year at the stadium, excluding concerts and other professional sporting events which are reserved to the Braves.

The stadium will have a highway marquee that will advertise stadium events and attractions. The Braves will have the right to sell all the advertising for the marquee and keep the revenues generated by it.
