A leading accreditation agency took the DeKalb County school system off probation Tuesday, a sanction that prompted Gov. Nathan Deal last year to suspend six school board members.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools put the DeKalb school district on “accredited probation,” one step short of losing accreditation, after the Georgia Board of Education held a hearing on accusations of mismanagement and fighting among school board members.
